The phrase darkness at noon may not make sense,

It’s absurd how two people, once inseparable,

Fight tooth and nail to end it all World War III.

The hidden intentions finally laid on the table.

A famous married Pastor got entangled in an illicit affair,

News reached his wife. She reacted like a wounded Eagle.

Word had it that the Church was to be shared fair and square,

The church built over years- what about the congregation?

She owns a fancy car, house, and iPhone 18 but no job.

Wait, she has a job getting married to the wealthy,

Then, after months, file for divorce  hard work pays!

The nation is polluted; some think marriage unhealthy.

Where is the love? Where are genuine intentions?

Dating for years and years without marriage is on the rise.

Studying each other to fully confirm their loyalties.

Is this how it was meant to be? Where is the love?

Poem Description 

Recently, there have been talks of young people not getting married primarily due to the high bride price that is demanded not only in Uganda but across some other African countries. Another factor contributing to a number of young people not getting married is the reason behind why some women want an official marriage, so they can file for divorce in case they feel the slightest bit uncomfortable. Some men, because of infidelity, fear getting engaged in an official marriage, especially Christians, as it ties them to one partner till death do them apart. The poem asks key questions: where is the love? Is this how it was meant to be?
