The Colours of Africa: Hues of our Heritage

With every brushstroke, a story is told

Of the ancestors’ wisdom, of young and old

In vibrant colours, our identity shines

A canvas of culture and heritage, forever sublime

The colours dance of a celebration bold

Of traditions passed, of stories yet to be told

Intricate patterns, a path to history

A tapestry of life, an interesting mystery

Red tones symbolizes passion and danger

While yellow bring joy, oh so major

The black symbolizing strength and might

And the white symbolizing hope and light

With paint that we adorn our homes and skin

A reflection of our culture, so deep within

A show of our pride, a symbol of identity

Connecting the living and the dead, perfect serenity

In the vibrant colours of our heritage

Lest we never forget our roots, our ethnicity, our stories

We wear our colours with honour, power and respect

The canvas of us, forever warm and true.
