Avoid environmental and health fallacies

Introduction

Climate change and diseases caused by the food we eat are the results of the fallacies our researchers have taken. However, mistakes can happen to anyone. We are not asking for the return of our researchers’ degrees or salaries. Another alternative is before us: “Are you ready to embrace the new way of life?”

A Few Misconceptions

We were taught during the plague years to burn all weeds to eradicate rat shelters. Our ancestors were well-informed during the malaria era to dry up the water to stop the proliferation of mosquitoes. We were trained to use chemical fertilizers, agricultural inputs, to have enough food and achieve the yields and profitability of developed countries. Currently, the weeds and forests used to fertilize our land have almost disappeared. The water sources to irrigate our land are no longer there. And since people are poor, 90% of the population doesn’t consult a doctor. This is why the government doesn’t really know the number of people affected by chemicals in their food. Countries that produce fertilizers and chemical inputs generate millions of dollars by selling this garbage to poor countries. However, they don’t even buy a kilo of our products made from this garbage. Sooner or later, people will suffer from diseases that are difficult to treat, such as cancer, respiratory problems, rheumatism, and so on, and the government will have to incur debts worth millions more to purchase pharmaceutical products.

The Solutions are Right in Front of You

Not all land, especially in Africa, requires the use of chemicals. We have abundant wild plants to replace these chemical fertilizers. We can create fertilizers, insecticides, acaricides, fungicides, and even rat poisons from local plants and materials. But our governments are blinded by politics and cannot find the path to wisdom. In Africa, self-sufficiency in organic remedies can be achieved. It requires combined efforts among technicians to achieve this. It requires collaboration between technicians: researchers, managers, marketing geniuses, leaders, etc., to create organic fertilizers, inputs, and medicines. In marketing, if you are not the producer and distributor of these organic products, someone else will take your place. And in this case, they will sell you products that are not aimed at your health, but at their financial profitability. Remember the case of “broiler chickens.” Organic chicken producers do not cover the market, while broiler chickens fill this market until death ensues.

Conclusion

Indeed, we have burned and dried out our land. We have resorted to using chemicals to obtain food. Climate change is affecting our health, generating diseases that are difficult to treat, or even incurable. Yet, we have other materials to replace these products. Let’s join forces to produce fertilizers, inputs, medicines, and biological products.
