Introduction After Mozambique’s independence in 1975, the government led by FRELIMO. adopted a Marxist-Leninist policy aimed at building a new socialist society and eradicating behaviors associated with colonialism and capitalism. In this context, two notable initiatives were implemented: Operation Production in 1983 and the reeducation process that began in 1974.
