We Need Each Other

If my right be your right

Won’t it be right?

If your left be my left that left

What else is left?

The desire of a cracked land

Is not that cool night breeze that lures men to sleep.

A parched land is not enticed by the sounds of happy feet

That celebrates an enemy’s defeat.

Stolen smiles can still be found

Within the circumference of a helping hand.

We can only go further

If we agree to stick together.

If I take you there

And you give to me

what I can’t take.

Won’t it be nice?

Let your strength cloth my weakness

That fate will no longer stare at my nakedness.

Let’s not just talk the talk

But also walk the walk.

If my right be your right

Won’t it be right?

If your left be my left that left

What else is left?
