HOW DO YOU RECOGNISE AN INTELLIGENT PERSON?

Introduction

Many people agree that intelligent people have many unique characteristics by which they can be easily identified. They are considered to be truly special people because of the way they behave and act when faced with a complicated situation.

Here are a few tips for identifying intelligent people:

  1.     Intelligent people never answer the question: are you intelligent?

In reality, an intelligent person will never say they are intelligent. You can ask them this question over and over again and they will always say no. Intelligence is not something you have, but something you are. The more you know, the more you learn, the more you realise how little you know. That’s why the philosopher Socrates said: ‘The first knowledge is the knowledge of my ignorance: it is the beginning of intelligence’ and in its literal translation from ancient Greek: ‘I know only one thing, and that is that I know nothing’ or ‘All I know is that I know nothing’.

  1.     At a meeting, the most intelligent people ask more questions and always try to learn more about the subject. They push the envelope further. A way for them to learn more. Instead of asking direct questions that reveal their mastery of the subject, however, they will dig even deeper into the subject.

  1.     Intelligent people are almost impossible to influence. When someone tries to get them to do something unethical and uncomfortable, they’ll immediately reject the offer, because they’re always thinking of the negative repercussions that could lead to serious consequences.

  1.     It’s very difficult to teach an intelligent person. When you try to teach new knowledge to a group, they can take your place immediately. Because she connects very quickly and is at ease explaining things to her classmates. They are very generous.

  1.     It’s rare to see an intelligent person taking part in several group activities. They are always alone and independent. They tend to think for themselves. They are very cautious. There are also exceptions.

  1.     They feel embarrassed when they are wrong. These types of people are often able to admit their mistakes. When someone accuses them of wrongdoing, they rarely contradict.

  1.     When they don’t understand something, they stay up all night researching the subject, the problem, the text, or whatever it is that’s giving them a hard time. They won’t put it off until later, they feel unsatisfied.

  1.     Intelligent people are very modest and humble; they never boast about their achievements or trophies. They are quieter and more observant.

  1.     Now, if their achievements and trophies are mentioned, someone else will talk about them. They prefer to let others say good things about them, rather than bragging about themselves. But with the advent of social networking, it’s very difficult not to promote yourself.
