The mind has two levels, namely, the conscious and the unconscious. The conscious mind receives information and sends the information to the unconscious mind (this is the level that emotions live in), and once that happens, the unconscious mind executes it, which is why it is vital to regulate the information you receive on a daily basis, It contributes to a healthy mind.
Based on how the mind works, in a study by Dr Joseph Murphy, what you often think manifests unconsciously; simply put, negative thoughts manifest into negative actions, and positive thoughts breed positive actions. In short, what occupies your mind reflects itself in your reality. In a way, thinking is like connecting to the universe and conversing with it, because what you think about is the words you speak, your demeanor, and your attitude, meaning that even if someone wants to do something good for you, you would lose out on that good fortune; bottom-line: your mindset is everything.
The power of suggestion
Have you ever heard the expression: “Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future”? Well, this expression comes from the suggestive influence they may or do have on you, so it is very important to have the right people surrounding you. Energy is transferrable, which means if your friends have the wrong energy, you will inherit it by association; of course, you have a choice, but a friend may suggest something about the right choice you were going to make without even convincing you, your friend would have influenced the choice you made.
For instance, let us say you surround yourself with weed smokers. The more time you spend with them, the more curious you get about their high, and this is not due to them telling you how good their high is. But seeing them high becomes a suggestion without them saying anything. In short, the visual becomes a seed that is received by the conscious mind, the constant exposure is water to the seed, and the unconscious mind executes what was planted.
As human beings, we are taught about good and bad, but can we say the same thing about being careful of what occupies our minds? The mind is an incredibly powerful instrument, and we should be mindful of how we use it and what we expose it to because that could be the difference between success and failure.
