Who We Are

Right for Education (R:Ed) is a non-profit Pan-African movement dedicated to educating and empowering individuals across more than 35 African countries. We harness the power of the internet to build a connected community of learners who believe in Africa’s bright future.

Right for Education is Ireland’s only social media-focused foundation. The Irish foundation is fiscally confirmed with EU and US law. Our Ghanaian foundation extends its reach across ECOWAS nations.

Our goal is to scale up successful educational programs that influence behavior change on global issues such as human rights, environmental sustainability, governance, women’s equality, and health initiatives like COVID-19 awareness.

Our Mission

To educate and empower individuals across Africa by providing culturally relevant and accessible knowledge through digital platforms. We build a connected community of adults aged 18-45, that foster independent learning, mentorship, inspires positive change, and creates opportunities for Africans to lead, make informed decision and shape their future.

Our Vision

To be the leading Pan-African movement that transforms lives and communities through education, uniting millions across the continent in a shared vision of progress, innovation, and opportunity. We aspire to create an Africa where every individual has the knowledge and resources to thrive and contribute to a sustainable and inclusive future.

Our Aim

We aim to build a connected community of adults aged 18–45 that fosters independent lifelong learning, and mentorship, inspires positive change, and creates opportunities for Africans to lead and make informed decisions.

Our Approach to Learning

We advocate for active learning and two-way communication. Our approach encourages independent thinking and cultural tolerance. We listen, engage, and refine our content based on the needs and feedback of our audience, ensuring that learning remains dynamic and impactful.

Our Content Producers

Our team comprises over 700 highly educated interns, aged 20–45, with expertise across diverse industries such as health, education, and IT.

Most of our writers are based in chapters at Africa’s top universities, with additional contributors from Oxford University in the UK and a virtual chapter at Kenya’s Kakuma Refugee Camp, where interns develop e-learning content tailored to the unique needs of refugee communities.

All content is produced in both French and English, ensuring broad accessibility and relevance across sub-Saharan Africa.
