READING HELPS AT SCHOOL
Reading is one of the biggest tools available to help us at school. Through reading we can learn about all the different subjects and topics that we will cover at school. This allows us to consolidate and practise all the things that we learn at school.

READING HELPS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE WORLD
Books are a collation of people’s ideas from all over the world, across cultures and throughout time. Books are a brilliant way to get an insight into the viewpoint of people who we do not share obvious things in common with. Through reading we are able to expand our thinking and learn more about the world we are part of and the vast array of cultures and people that occupy it. Learning about the history of our country and others history’s allows us to understand the background that those people are coming from and make us more empathetic and kind.

READING CAN HELP IN LEARNING SKILLS
We are always learning skills that we will be able to use later in life when we get a job. These skills we pick up from very different areas of life and help us become better people and allow us to become more successful later. Reading is one of these transferable skills that we learn and can be used to make us more successful as we move through life. Being a good reader is a great skill to have in many work environments. It allows us to sift through large amounts of information quickly and is a necessary skill for many jobs.

READING EXPANDS OUR VOCABULARY
Reading has the added benefit of teaching us new words. New words are exciting and fun and allow us to express ourselves in new ways. They allow us to be more precise and accurate when we speak and convey what we are trying to say better. A better toolkit of words can improve our work and allow us to succeed in school.

READING IS GREAT ENTERTAINMENT
Reading is fun! Reading is one of the greatest forms of entertainment. Reading books allows us to dive into another world and enjoy the story of a book. Through reading we are able to develop our creativity and imagination as we use our imaginations to build the picture being created by the writer at the same time as enjoying ourselves!
